Jesus is the Savior of the World

Many people believe that Jesus came to this earth only to bring social justice, exemplify a good moral life, and to be a great teacher. However, the Scriptures show us that Jesus came to this earth for a much higher purpose. Consider a few verses:

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11).

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10).

"And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14).

Jesus had a mission when He came to this earth. And that mission was to save us!

What are we saved from?

Jesus came to save us from our sins. We all have the same problem:

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Since we have sinned we deserve death:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

However, Jesus died on the cross so that we can be saved from death and have eternal life!

How are we saved?

The Hebrew writer states that Jesus died for everyone (Hebrews 2:9). So, the good news is everyone has an opportunity to be saved. Unfortunately, not everyone will accept the gift of eternal life.

The Bible shows us several things a person must do to be saved:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

"No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3).

"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved" (Romans 10:9,10).

Be Baptized

"And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name." (Acts 22:16).
